At Lake Superior State University, students are engaging with emerging industries in ways that bring classroom learning to life. This includes the rapidly evolving cannabis sector.
Members of LSSU’s Cannabis Club have taken part in several experiential learning opportunities over the past year, connecting directly with industry professionals and gaining insight to the complexities of the work. Students attended Hash Bash in Ann Arbor, a long-standing event focused on advocacy and public discourse, as well as MJBizCon, one of the industry’s largest conferences.
More recently, students had the opportunity to hear from a visiting business leader in the cannabis space, bringing real-world perspective into the classroom and sparking conversations around entrepreneurship, regulation, and the future of the market.
These experiences reflect LSSU’s broader approach to teaching, connecting students with current trends, exploring new career paths, and providing opportunities to engage with evolving industries. Stepping outside traditional classroom conversations, students gain a deeper understanding of how their skills apply in real-world situations.
