Hello Lakers and happy spring!
It’s been a long winter here in the Sault and I am looking forward to some warmer weather ahead. Speaking of looking ahead, this summer is scheduled to hold a few Alumni events that I am looking forward to. On July 25th the LSSU Alumni Association is hosting another Lake State Day at the Tigers. This is always such a fun event that brings together alumni from all over the state. Hopefully we can enjoy a day of sunshine and a big Tiger win!
On August 7th Lake State is hosting the Lake State Classic. This annual golf tournament helps to raise money for Lake State and is always a big hit with alumni. The past several years the tournament has sold out and we hope to do the same this year, so watch your email for more information coming soon!
Also coming this fall is Great Lake State Weekend scheduled for October 23-24th, 2026! This year Laker Hockey takes on Bowling Green for GLSW. We also look forward to welcoming back alumni, family and friends back to campus for tons of fun events. One event that I look forward to attending each year is the Alumni Awards and Hall of Fame Ceremony. Listening to the success stories of our alumni is always so inspiring and makes me proud of my alma mater. Another exciting event is the annual GLSW Tailgate. Held prior to the hockey game on Saturday, the tailgate is always fun, with events for the entire family. Inflatables, food, games and more, it is always one of the highlights of the weekend.
