Viridis Laboratories is proud to support Lake Superior State University’s cannabis chemistry program and recently donated $50,000 to fund research as well as a new periodic table of elements on campus in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
The cannabis chemistry degree program was the first in the nation when it launched in 2019. Viridis Chief Science Officer Dr. Michele Glinn serves on the advisory board to assist with curriculum design and offer her expertise on the subject.
“At Viridis, we’re dedicated to scientific excellence within our company and in the industry as a whole, so I’m proud to serve on LSSU’s cannabis chemistry advisory board,” Glinn said. “As the cannabis industry grows and matures in Michigan, it’s important to have a pipeline of qualified talent prepared to work in cannabis testing laboratories so we can help ensure patients and adult-use consumers have consistent access to safe, effective product.”
The university recently celebrated 75 years of chemistry programs and unveiled a new periodic table of elements at the Crawford Hall of Science. The periodic table is comprised of plaques with individual sponsors. Viridis sponsored the overall table, with the donation used to fund undergraduate chemistry research.
