Anishinaabe scholar Dr. Veronica Pasfield discussed Orange Shirt Day and explored the impact of Indian Boarding Schools. She offered perspective on the ideology that created Indian boarding schools and how Michigan tribal communities and culture were impacted. Dr. Pasfield is a scholar specializing in federal Indian boarding school policy, archival research, and oral history. She is a National Endowment for the Humanities fellow researching Indian boarding schools and a tribal citizen of Bay Mills Indian Community.
