Meet the Newest Team Members

Erin Lake is the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Advancement. As a member of the Advancement staff, Erin provides executive level administrative assistance to the Vice President, and supports the operations of the Office of Advancement.

Originally from Sault Ste. Marie, she attended then Lake Superior State College, and completed her bachelors at Michigan State University. Outside of the office, Erin enjoys spending time with her children – Summer and Jack – and her standard poodles – Pendill, Peri, and Ginger.  In her free time, she also loves watching Detroit Tiger’s baseball, exercising, listening to podcasts, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Someone she is inspired by is educators; her dad is a retired math teacher, her brother a science teacher, and her daughter is a high school English teacher.  It is with this deep-rooted connection that she values the importance of education, and is inspired by those who choose to prepare today’s youth for tomorrow’s world.

Christine Rutledge

Christine Rutledge is the Development Coordinator for the Advancement Department at Lake Superior State University. She creates content for the Alumni social media pages, updates the Alumni Association websites, and manages the enhancement of data integrity.

She graduated from Central Michigan University with her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a focus in General Management and Hospitality. Prior to her current role at LSSU, Christine worked as an accounting clerk, helping our Business Office  with managing student accounts, verified invoices and purchase orders, and created and generated accounting reports. Before joining the LSSU family, she was a Guest Service Representative at Embassy Suites and a Concierge at The Walt Disney World. Christine was awarded the Team Player Award for three consecutive years and was the first Employee of the Month during her time in the hospitality industry, as well as on the Dean’s List at CMU. 

In her free time, Christine enjoys spending time outdoors going on hikes, kayaking, exploring new bike trails, relaxing at the beach, and traveling.
