Lake Superior State University (LSSU) has brought its Athletic Hall of Fame into the digital age with the installation of new touch screen displays at the Norris Center. These interactive boards offer an engaging way to honor the outstanding athletes, coaches, and contributors who have shaped LSSU’s rich sports history.
The state-of-the-art touch screens replace traditional brass plaques, combining modern technology with a sleek, user-friendly design. Visitors can explore detailed biographies, career highlights, and photos of inductees at their fingertips. Additionally, the displays feature a search function that allows users to quickly locate specific Hall of Fame athletes or explore by induction year.
“This project reflects LSSU’s commitment to honoring our history while embracing innovation,” said Tory Lindley, LSSU Athletic Director. “The new digital boards not only make the Hall of Fame more accessible but also create an immersive experience for alumni, students, and community members alike.”
The Athletic Hall of Fame boards are located in the Norris Center across from the Ticket Office and at the entrance to Taffy Abel Arena, ensuring that the stories of LSSU’s sports legends remain visible and celebrated. They also have the potential to expand in the future, with the ability to include video highlights, interviews, and other multimedia elements.
LSSU Athletics invites everyone to visit the Norris Center to explore the new Athletic Hall of Fame displays. Whether you’re a longtime Lakers fan or a first-time visitor, this innovative technology showcases the university’s athletic achievements in a whole new way.
