Mary Ruth (Strahl) Allen ’49, Alpharetta, GA, passed away October 6, 2024. She graduated from LSSU in its early years as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology, then went on to earn her Bachelor’s from MSU. Mary was a trailblazer who worked many positions on Alaskan Marine Highway System ships and made friends from around the world.

Donna Anders, Iron Mountain, passed away August 9, 2022. She served in the army as part of classified communications until her discharge, then attended LSSU , Bay De Noc College, and NMU under the GI Bill. Donna was an avid Tigers fan who loved music and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

Charles Anderson ’82, Rudyard, passed away January 30, 2024. He served in the U.S. Navy for 26 years, including during the Vietnam and Korean Wars, then attended LSSU before becoming an educator in Michigan for 15 years. Charles was also a member of the Rudyard Christian Reformed Church.

Jerry Archer ’50, Cheboygan, passed away September 16, 2024. He studied forestry at LSSU in the university’s early years as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology, and served in the US Army before devoting himself to his 35 year career with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Jerry is remembered for his love for the outdoors.

Pauline (Fowler) Badensk ’75, Sault Ste Marie, passed away October 9, 2024. She attended LSSU when it was Lake Superior State College before joining the US Army and serving for 13 years. Pauline is remembered for her love for sewing, gardening, and her pets.

Trudy Bailey ’64, Drummond Island, passed away May 25, 2024. Trudy attended LSSU when it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology, and completed her educational journey at MSU before moving to Arizona to work as a teacher. She is remembered for her kindness toward others and her love for reading.

James Ballor ’74, Alliance, OH, passed away March 27, 2022. James attended LSSU for several years when it was Lake Superior State College, then finished his degree at Youngstown State University before becoming a teacher for over 30 years. In his free time, Jim enjoyed music and the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.

Gary Bartolett ’64, Edina, MN, passed away September 28, 2024. He attended LSSU when it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology, then continued his education at Kellogg Community College and Montana State University. Gary started his career as an accountant at Arthur Andersen & Co. and retired as a tax consultant at United Health.

Donald Berry ’47, Plano, TX, passed away November 15, 2023. He joined the Navy immediately after graduating high school, then attended LSSU in its early years as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology before transferring to the Colorado School of Mines to complete his Geophysical Engineering degree. Donald worked for Phillips 66 for his entire career, first following the oil around the country before settling down with an office job until his retirement in 1985.

Rev. Dennis John Boogerd ’06, Sault Ste Marie, passed away June 3, 2024. He became a pastor and ministered at churches in several states before returning to Michigan, where he attended LSSU. Dennis is remembered for his enjoyment of the outdoors and devotion to his faith.

William Bosley ’70, Sault Ste Marie, passed away October 19, 2022. In addition to attending LSSU, William served in the US Coast Guard for 29 years as an Aviation Electronic Technician. In his free time, he played and coached both hockey and basketball.

Andrew Bosworth, Riverdale, GA,  passed away July 24, 2024. He attended LSSU briefly after graduating from high school in 1989, but ultimately left after deciding he was not ready to commit to college at the time. Andrew later resumed his education at Lansing Community College and Sienna Heights University.  His passion was driving and spending time with family.

Mina Brotherton (Fritz) ’49, Hancock, passed away December 31, 2023. She attended LSSU when it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology. Mina was a talented homemaker who took great pride in her family and enjoyed bowling with her husband, William.

William Brotherton ’50, Hancock, passed away March 29, 2018. He began his degree in Research Chemistry at LSSU when it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology, then completed his degree at the main campus in Houghton before starting his teaching career. William is remembered for his love for his family and bowling, both of which shared with his wife, Mina.

R. Scott Brown ’81, Jackson, passed away July 7, 2023. He earned several academic degrees from NMU, EMU, and LSSU while working for the State of Michigan. He became a school teacher and then a teacher for inmates at Jackson Prison. Scott is remembered for his dedication to others and love for teaching.

Thomas Burr ’58, St. Johns, passed away October 12, 2024. Thomas began his engineering degree at LSSU in its early years as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology, then transferred to CMU, where he completed an education degree. He went on to teach industrial arts at Fulton Schools and worked as a principal until his retirement. Thomas also sold farming equipment.

James Byers ’47, Sparta, passed away November 27, 2023. Born in Sault Ste Marie, James attended LSSU when it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology. He is remembered for his love for the outdoors and reading.

Jason Carstens ’00, Sault Ste Marie, passed away September 8, 2024. He studied fire science at LSSU, earned his paramedic certification, and went on to become a fire investigator for Sault Ste Marie. Jason loved the outdoors, especially hunting, which earned him the nickname “Trapper” amongst his peers at the Sault Ste Marie Fire Department.

Mary Crawford, Sault Ste Marie, passed away November 20, 2024. She was a passionate traveler, avid NCAA hockey fan, and long-time supporter of LSSU. Mary was the daughter-in-law of Harry Crawford, after whom Crawford Hall is named. Mary is remembered for her fierce independence and bright spirit.

Gloria Dalimonte ’57, Sault Ste Marie, passed away October 12, 2023. Gloria attended LSSU in its early years as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology. She is remembered for her unwavering devotion to her faith.

Darrian Davis ’79, Marquette, passed away July 21, 2024. Darrian earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries & Wildlife from LSSU, then began his career with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, where he worked as a Physical Science Technician and then became a Treatment Supervisor. He enjoyed relaxing and reading.

Glenn Doran ’63, Woodstock, GA, passed away September 12, 2024. He began his higher education at LSSU, then went on to earn a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate from MSU before beginning his 29 year career as a teacher and superintendent at Mason Public Schools and schools in Sylacauga, AL. Glenn was also a member of the Mason Optimist Club and Mason United Methodist Church, past president of the Mason Area United Way, and former member of the Mason State Bank Board of Directors.

Christine England ’87, Sault Ste Marie, passed away July 15, 2024. She earned a psychology degree from LSSU in its final year as Lake Superior State College. Christine dedicated 30 years to working for Senior Customs Officials, and is remembered for her love for animals.

Thomas England passed away October 23, 2024. Thomas taught at LSSU as an Assistant Professor of Management and was a Business and Economics instructor during the summers from 2006-2010.

Paul Fitzner ’73, Trufant, passed away October 9, 2022. Paul earned an Associate’s degree from LSSU when it was Lake Superior State College, then began his 31-year career with Tower Automotive. He is remembered for his love for the outdoors and his family.

Larry Flanders, Trout Lake, passed away October 1, 2023. Larry served in the US Army for several years before returning to Northern Michigan, where he worked as an educator at several schools. At LSSU he served as an adjunct English professor for 3 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the arts.

William ‘Bill’ Gallihugh ’59, Kalamazoo, passed away June 28, 2024. He studied engineering at LSSU when it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology, then served in the Air Force for six years as an A1C radio intercept analysis specialist. Bill is remembered as a dedicated father, husband, and provider for his family.

Joseph Green Sr, St. Ignace, passed away August 20, 2024. After graduating from LSSU in its early years, Joseph worked in several careers, including ironworking, Mackinac Bridge construction, and a position as a prison guard. He is remembered for his vibrant personality and many hobbies, including singing and yodeling.

Marjorie Gulliver ’49, Grand Ledge, passed away September 9, 2022. She attended LSSU before going to Sparrow Hospital, where she earned her RN Degree. Marjorie worked at Sparrow until her retirement in 1986 and was devoted to her family.

Bruce Hansen ’60, Thunder Bay, ON, Canada, passed away October 30, 2024. He earned a degree in engineering physics from LSSU when it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology, then went on to work for Abitibi-Consolidated until developing his own company, Nelson Superior Consultants. Bruce is remembered for his love of the outdoors.

Brad Helminen, High Point, NC, passed away September 16, 2022. He attended LSSU, then NMU before moving to North Carolina, where he worked in several different fields, including as an insurance agent at Amerilife Insurance.

Craig Hewitt ’70, Clio, passed away September 10, 2022. Craig graduated from LSSU, served in the US Navy on a submarine, and worked for GM until his retirement.

Lucy Hill, Ferndale, passed away May 19th. 2023. She attended LSSU when it was Lake Superior State College and earned her Associate’s degree. Lucy is remembered for her love of sports, home improvement projects, and love for her family.

Joseph ‘Joe’ Holcomb, Saginaw, passed away November 18, 2024. Joe studied engineering at LSSU, then worked as a sales engineer for Uson Corporation until his retirement in 2012. He is remembered for his love of being on the water and his motorcycle.

Rodney Holmstrom ’47, Schenectady, NY, passed away January 30, 2024. He attended LSSU when it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology and earned a degree in electrical engineering. Rodney went on to serve in the US Coast Guard before beginning what would become a 40+ year career with General Electric.

John Humberstone ’76, Harpers Ferry, WV, passed away February 7, 2023. He attended LSSU when it was Lake Superior State College, then went on to work as a firefighter. He is remembered as a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

Lincoln Jacobs ’53, St. Johns, passed away June 28, 2023. After graduating from LSSU when it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology, Lincoln created a successful career with General Motors. He had a passion for airplanes, his farm, and the outdoors.

Stephan Kane ’71, Traverse City, passed away June 2, 2024. He attended LSSU when it was Lake Superior State College, then moved to Traverse City with his wife. He is remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, and husband with a strong religious faith.

Stephen Brice Kemppainen ’65, Drummond Island, passed away October 15, 2024. He studied at LSSU when it was Lake Superior State College, as well as Diesel Mechanic School through MTU. Stephen served as the Fire Chief of Drummond Island for 40 years, worked at the Drummond Island Quarry, bought and owned Lake View Resort, and served on the Drummond Island Clinic Board of Directors, Sportsman Club Board of Directors, Moose Lodge Board of Directors, and 4th of July Committee.

John Kenn, Sault Ste Marie, passed away August 10, 2023. After completing his education downstate, he came to Sault Ste. Marie to work as a librarian and professor at Lake Superior State College, prior to finding his long-held position as librarian at Sault Area High School. John is remembered for his volunteer work and dedication to his community.

William Kieger, Flagstaff, AZ, passed away April 25, 2023. William earned a Bachelor’s in Education from LSSU before going on to earn his Masters at the University of Pittsburgh. He is remembered for his impact as a superintendent, teacher, counselor, father, grandfather, uncle, volunteer, and friend.

Gail King, Buckley, passed away November 8, 2024. She attended LSSU and Grand Rapids Community College earning an Associate of Liberal Arts before dedicating herself to raising her daughter. Gail went on to work at TCAPS in Grand Traverse County for six years.

Lisa King ’11, Topinabee, passed away May 28, 2024. She attended LSSU – advancing her studies in teaching – then went on to work at Waterford Elementary School, Vanderbilt Area Schools, Alanson Schools, Boyne City Elementary, and the elementary and middle schools in St. Ignace. Lisa was dedicated to the children she served and was an avid Lions fan.

Barbara Kish ’78, Venice, FL, passed away December 28, 2023. Born in Sault Ste Marie, Barbara attended LSSU to further her education. She is remembered for her love for her friends and family.

Patrick Krell ’83, O’Fallon, MO, passed away January 7, 2024. He graduated from Lake Superior State College with a degree in mechanical engineering and went on to build a 40-year career working for major defense contractors around the world. Patrick is remembered for his generosity toward others and devotion to his son.

James LaBean ’57, Sanford, passed away October 27, 2024. He studied at LSSU when it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology earning a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to earn a license as a Michigan Registered Professional Engineer before having an interesting career working with Collins Radio Co. on the communication system for the Apollo Space Project. After that, James had a 30-year career working for Dow Chemical Co.

Jacquelyn ‘Jackie’ LaFord ’83, Sault Ste Marie, passed away September 26, 2024. She attended Lake Superior State College and earned her Bachelor’s degree. Jackie is remembered for her love for the outdoors and her family.

Shayne Lancour ’01, Escanaba, passed away July 10, 2023. He earned his Bachelor’s from LSSU, and worked at the paper mill in Escanaba for 28 years. Shayne spent his free time coaching softball and baseball, earning himself the EAJHA “Coach of the Year” award.

Matthew Larson ’11, Portland, OR, passed away February 16, 2021. He served in the army before enrolling at LSSU, where he earned his Bachelor’s in exercise physiology. Matthew was a proud veteran with a love for poetry, animals, and Taekwondo.

Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ (McIntire) Malkowski ’91, Cedarville, passed away October 25, 2024. She attended Alpena College and LSSU to study early childhood development, then went on to work at Cedarville High School as a teacher’s aide and food service personnel. Jackie is remembered for her love for her friends and family.

Paul Marchant, Brighton, passed away August 29, 2023. He attended LSSU before moving on to NMU in Marquette, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in political science. Paul worked for General Motors, Gerber, the Michigan Legislator, Compuware, and AAA. He is remembered for his love for cruises, and above all else, his family.

Robert Matchett ’71, Marquette, passed away November 15, 2023.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from LSSU and a Master’s from Northern Illinois University in Community Mental Health. Robert worked as a substance abuse coordinator at the LMAS District Health Center for 15 years until his retirement. He also worked as a chaplain for the Marquette Branch Prison.

M. Diane McKnight, Belleville, IL, passed away October 16, 2022. She attended LSSU in it’s early days as a branch of Michigan Tech and worked at several military bases throughout her life, including the former Kincheloe Air Force base. She is remembered for her dedication to her country and her faith.

James Miller ’83, Newberry, passed away May 19, 2024. He attended Lake Superior State College. James is remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandpa.

Shane Miller ’89, Sault Ste Marie, passed away October 23, 2023. He was outgoing from childhood through adulthood, during which he studied politics at LSSU. Shane also served as a City Commissioner for Sault Ste. Marie, taking great pride in the area, and striving to make it the best it could be.

Dale Mix ’69, Onaway, passed away October 26, 2024. He attended Lake Superior State College before enlisting in the US Army. Dale returned to Michigan after his military service and worked for Presque Isle Electric for 40 years until his retirement.

Guy Molby, Alden, passed away July 1, 2024. Guy was Director of Security and a Criminal Justice professor at LSSU, as well as a Professional Investigator and Zoning Administrator for Helena Township. He also served as a Scoutmaster in Alden for over 60 years and was a volunteer firefighter with South Torch lake Fire & Rescue.

Barbara Mornson, Westbrook, ME, passed away September 9th, 2024. She attended LSSU in its early years, then moved to Maine where she worked for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years. She is remembered by her sons, grandchildren, and numerous other family members.

Michael Mosher, Gladstone, passed away September 12, 2024. He earned a Bachelor’s in accounting from LSSU and was drafted to the US Army in 1967. After an honorable discharge in 1969, Michael worked for Chicago and North Western Railroad, then Mead Paper until his retirement.

William ‘Bill’ O’Connor ’69, Kalamazoo, passed away May 26, 2024. After completing his schooling, Bill was drafted in the US Air Force, where he earned numerous awards and medals for his participation in search and rescue teams. He worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections after his discharge, then went on to own part of O’Connor’s CPD until his retirement to Florida in 2013.

Jamie (McWatters) Oliver ’21, Petoskey, passed away September 10, 2024. Jamie graduated from LSSU with honors when she earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and was selected as the outstanding Early Childhood Education Graduate. She then went on to work as an adjunct at NCMC until June of 2024. Jamie is remembered for her great love of teaching.

Joseph Osborn ’63, Hulbert, passed away October 12, 2022. He attended LSSU in it’s early years as a branch of Michigan Tech before beginning a career in construction, during which he started the companies Osborn Construction and JOB Construction. Joseph is remembered for his love of the outdoors and dedication to his faith.

Christina Parr, Kalkaska, passed away September 14, 2024. She studied Human Services while attending LSSU, then went on to work as a Bookkeeper at Kewadin Casino for many years. Christina is remembered for her strength, independence, and dedication to her friends and family.

Stephen Pastoor ’71, Muskegon, passed away August 21, 2023. Stephen graduated from Lake Superior State College, then went on to work as the general manager of several Michigan golf clubs until his retirement. He also volunteered for the Westminster Downtown Food pantry. He is remembered for his wisdom and dedication to serving others.

Delvina Patrick, Goetzville, passed away September 30, 2023. After years of hard work and two years studying at Lake Superior State College, Delvina and her husband built and ran a successful international imported cheese business until she retired in 2022. In her free time, Delvina enjoyed gardening and researching history.

Daniel Patton, Mancelona, passed away September 23, 2024. He attended LSSU and was part of the Theta XI fraternity. He worked in various departments at Glen’s Market before joining the Mancelona Township Fire Department for 15 years, where he retired as a Captain. Daniel earned his Paramedic license from  NCMC in 2000 and worked for Life Link Ambulance, Kalkaska EMS, North Flight EMS, and MMR while attending Liberty University online to earn his B.A. in Business Administration and Sales.

James E. Quinnell ’53, Pickford, passed away October 19, 2024. He began his higher education at LSSU when it was known as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining and Technology, and followed his passion for sports as a track and basketball athlete. James played basketball at LSSU, and his team was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. James received the Clifford Everett Award for athlete of the year.

Benjamin Ray ’47, Dedham, MA, passed away October 16, 2022. Benjamin served in the Army during WWII, then earned a degree from the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining and Technology after returning home. He continued his education at MSU, then devoted the rest if his career to educating others as a teacher.

Dorla Reid ’76, Sault Ste Marie, passed away October 22, 2024. She attended Lake Superior State College, then worked for several community service organizations while also working as a foster parent and member of the War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Dorla adored her family and sports, and was a member of the Lake State Softball League.

Charles Roberts ’53, Lansing, passed away March 6, 2023. He attended LSSU in its early years in addition to Lansing Community College, where he earned an accounting degree. Charles is remembered for his perseverance, hard work, and his love for his family.

Lori Schimke ’78, Kentwood, passed away May 28, 2024. She attended LSSU when it was Lake Superior State College. Lori is remembered for her faith and love for her family.

Imogene ‘Gene’ Schrader-Nutter ’69, Cedarville, passed away August 21, 2024. She attended LSSU while living in Cedarville and working as a facilities manager at InterVarsity Fellowship’s training camp in Cedarville. Gene worked as a teacher, counselor, and librarian in the Les Cheneaux and Brimley school districts, though most of her time was dedicated to the church and faith-based organizations such as the Salvation Army and Youth with a Mission.

Stanley Schroeder ’59, Ludington, passed away April 24, 2024. He attended LSSU when it was known as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology and graduated with a chemistry degree, going on to work in seven states across the US. Stanley also enjoyed fishing, and was the proud holder of a world record for one of the many fish he caught.

Deborah Siemiet ’72, Brownstown Township, passed away September 17, 2024. She earned her nursing degree from Lake Superior State College, then went on to work as a nurse for 43 at several different hospitals in the US. Deborah is remembered for her love for sewing, her children, and her unwavering faith.

William ‘Bill’ Southall, Sault Ste Marie, passed away January 25, 2023. After graduating from high school, Bill went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Upon returning to the Sault, he worked as a corrections officer, cab driver, and Upper Peninsula Health Partners volunteer. He briefly attended LSSU in the early 2000’s.

Lani Jane Stacks ’90, San Diego, CA, passed away August 23, 2024. Lani originally attended Lake Superior State College, but left before completing her degree to become a flight attended. She later returned and graduated from LSSU with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and went on to study law and science at Davenport and Steven-Henager College.

Edward ‘Ward’ Staffeld, Dansville, passed away May 6, 2024. He studied at LSSU, NMU, and Western Michigan University, and was a historian in the Air Force, as well as a former member of the Michigan National Guard. Ward worked for the Ingham County Circuit Court and Jackson County Circuit Court before retiring to his family farm.

Leonard Staley ’55, Charlevoix, passed away March 14, 2023. He studied at LSSU and CMU before serving his country in the US Marine Corps. Leonard is remembered for his dedication to his church and enjoyment of the outdoors.

David Stanaway ’74, Sault Ste Marie, passed away August 23, 2024. After graduating from LSSU, he went on to earn teaching credentials at CMU before landing several teaching positions in Sault Area Schools. David was know for his love for writing, performing, and teaching music.

James ‘Jim’ Tamlyn, Cheboygan, passed away September 15, 2024. Jim attended LSSU, NMU, and CMU before beginning his teaching and coaching career in Harbor Beach, which he wrapped up with a position as a principal in Cheboygan. He is remembered for his love of reading, watching sports, and the UP.

Robert TenEyck, Sault Ste Marie, passed away October 22, 2024. He was a former LSSU professor, as well as a US Army veteran. Robert is remembered as a family man with endless pride in his grandchildren.

Sherrill Thayer ’74, Mesquite, NV, passed away September 1, 2022. Her life’s passion was nursing, and she achieved her goals by earning her RN from LSSU and landing a job at St. Luke’s Hospital in NYC. Sherrill moved overseas for several years with her nursing career, then came back to earn her Master’s in Nursing from Simmons university.

Barbara Thomas ’91, Alpena, passed away July 28, 2024. She graduated from Alpena Community College, then later from LSSU with a Bachelor’s degree. Barbara worked as a Commercial Loan Lender at Central Savings Bank until her retirement and spent her free time reading, golfing, and with family.

Ann (Wood) Sebastian Thompson ’04, Goetzville, passed away May 26, 2024. Ann spent her childhood in India then moved to Michigan where she met her husband and settled down on a farm. She enjoyed crafting, making soap, and taking care of her family.

Ruth Thornley (Rhind) ’54, Lawrenceville, GA, passed away October 18, 2023. She began her education at LSSU before completing her BSN at the University of Michigan, and went on to work as both a nurse and a nursing educator. Ruth is remembered for her love for her family and fierce independence.

Peter VonDrak ’89, Ludington, passed away August 8, 2023. He attended GVSU, Thomas Cooley Law School, and LSSU before beginning his career as an administrator in Minnesota. Peter is remembered for his dedication to his daughter and his community.

LeRoy Wackerle ’72, Pinconning, passed away December 13, 2023. After graduating from LSSU, LeRoy worked for Dow Chemical Corporation and Habitat for Humanity of Bay City. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Pinconning Fraser Fire Department, sat on the Pinconning Township Zoning Commissions, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Gerald ‘Jerry’ ’97 & Tara  Weaver ’98, Escanaba, passed away January 27, 2023. Jerry earned an Associate’s degree from LSSU, and went on to work as an inspector for the State of Michigan FDA. Tara warned earned her Bachelor’s degree from LSSU, and worked as the Great Start Director at the DSISD. The pair were their children’s biggest fans at their sporting and academic events.

John Wells Sr ’58, Saginaw, passed away March 9, 2021. He attended both Ferris State University and LSSU when it was known as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining and Technology. John worked for GM Grey Iron Foundry until his 1990 retirement, and is remembered for his love of fixing things and dedication to his faith.

Barbara (McPhee) Westover, St. Ignace, passed away June 5, 2024. During her life, Barbara attended LSSU, worked as a Head Start teacher, was a secretary in the St. Ignace Water Department, and helped plan many 4th of July parades in town. In her free time, she ran her own small shop creating ceramics, including small Christmas trees, for her family during the holidays.

Kyle Wicklund ’81, Hampton, VA, passed away May 2, 2024. Born in Sault Ste Marie, he attended Lake Superior State College before moving to Virginia, where he found work as a hardware technician and met his wife of over 32 years. Kyle was known for his computer-fixing and cooking skills.

Robert ‘Bob’ Wilcox ’54, Grand Junction, CO, passed away August 2, 2022. He briefly attended LSSU in its early years as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining and Technology before beginning a career at General Motors, and as an entrepreneur with properties in several states. Bob is remembered for his hardworking, positive spirit, dedication to his faith, and love for his family.

Haley Wilson, Charlevoix, passed away November 19, 2021. She was a special education teacher’s assistant at Charlevoix Emmet Intermediate Schools who was in the midst of finishing her Special Education degree through LSSU. Haley is remembered for her big heart, dedication to helping others, and passion for cooking.

Thomas Woizeschke ’02, Alpena,  passed away August 6, 2024. He attended and graduated from Alpena High School, Alpena Community College, and Lake Superior State University, then worked for the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services until 2010. Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.

Richard Zink, Redford, passed away September 4, 2024. Richard was a longtime supporter of LSSU’s Barch Center for Freshwater Research and Education. He was also a Korean War veteran and MSU graduate with a degree in accounting.
