34th Annual Lake State Golf Classic Scramble Set for August 4 at Wild Bluff

Save the Date! The 34th Annual Lake State Golf Classic is set to take place at Wild Bluff Golf Course on Friday, Aug. 4 in Brimley, Mich. in support of LSSU and Laker Athletics.

The event is intended for everyone, regardless of golfing ability.

“As always, we are ecstatic to be back with our partners at Wild Bluff for another great event, supporting our students,” said Annual Fund and Athletic Development Director, Andrew Rubinstein.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with a light boxed breakfast provided for the golfers. The four-person team scramble will commence with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. There will be multiple special events as well, and lunch will be available for all participants at the turn.

“The Lake State Classic gives us an opportunity to welcome our Laker community back to the area just prior to the start of fall classes,” said LSSU Interim President, Dr. Lynn Gillette. “It is a fantastic way to engage with alumni and friends to enjoy some golf on one of the most beautiful courses in our area and support our great institution.”
There will also be a silent auction that will open for bidding on July 24 and remain open through the evening of Aug. 4. Previous auction items have included a stay and play opportunity at Bay Mills Resort and Casino, Laker and Red Wings memorabilia, and a golf fan package courtesy of the Green Bay Packers.
“The Lake State Classic is one of our signature events and one of my favorite to participate in each year,” said LSSU Athletic Director, Dr. Dave Diles. “The resources generated by the event are critical to providing our coaches and student-athletes with the tools needed to excel both on and off the field. We cannot thank our community, supporters, and alumni enough for the continued support.”
The entry fee for the event is set at $160 per person or $640 per team of four.
A limited hotel block has been reserved at Bay Mills Resort and Casino for the weekend. Please call (888)422-9645 and reference the weekend and event to reserve.
