The 34 h annual Lake State Classic in support of LSSU Athletics and Laker Club was held on August 4th at Wild Bluff in Brimley. This year’s event was sold out – something that hasn’t happened since 2008 – with 144 golfers participating in the scramble. “The weather couldn’t have been better and this year’s turn-out was fantastic,” commented LSSU Annual Fund & Athletic Development Director Andrew Rubinstein. “We appreciate the support from this year’s golfers and from our sponsors. They truly make this event possible.”
A highlight of the day was a hole-in-one by Tim Lukenda, Chair of the LSSU Board of Trustees. “It was a great event as always, and the hole in one was just the icing on the cake,” said Lukenda. “We were so pleased that this year’s event sold out, and it was great to see so many Lakers and friends out on the course in support of LSSU and Laker Athletics.”
