Hello fellow Lakers!
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful spring! Here in the Sault, it’s been a rather long and snowy winter but the end is hopefully in sight. With Commencement now behind us and another class of LSSU graduates welcomed into our alumni family, I’d like to reflect on my experiences with our most recent class of LSSU students.
Working in the emergency department of our local hospital, I have had the opportunity to interact with many of our LSSU EMT, paramedic, and nursing students during their clinical experiences. I am constantly impressed by the level of professionalism and preparedness that our students show. As I have watched several classes of students pass through my department and become colleagues, I have gotten to witness the growth of these individuals and see the results of a thorough and comprehensive LSSU education. Our LSSU students enter the workforce with the confidence to work independently and efficiently, which I feel can be attributed to their superior education.
Students at LSSU have access to small class sizes and several on site clinical experiences, as well as a state of the art simulation lab where they are able to practice situations that they may encounter once they enter the work field. The culmination of all of these resources and experiences helps to shape our students into top notch professionals. Almost daily, I get the opportunity to see our Lake State students in action and watching them grow from students into colleagues and professionals has been one of the highlights of my job for the past several years.
So congratulations to the Lake Superior State University Class of 2025! I wish you all the best of luck in all of your future endeavors. Welcome to the LSSU Alumni Family! We hope that you will keep in touch with your alma mater!
