Friday, October 11
Registration and check-in runs from 10 am to 7 pm today. Arrive early for the Career Fair starting at noon at Cisler, and check out the Center for Freshwater Research and Education (CFRE) open houses, on campus and at the fish hatchery. Join us in honoring four outstanding individuals (Cory Andersen, Tony Bosbous, Wendy James, and David Saunders) at the Alumni Awards Reception & Banquet Friday evening, or take in Laker volleyball vs. Wisconsin-Parkside in the Coopery Gym. Laker hockey takes on the Denver at 7:30pm in the Taffy Abel Arena, and various reunion groups will find places to gather after the game.
Saturday, October 12
Registration and check in continues at Lukenda Alumni House from 8am to 3pm. Admissions is hosting a Fall Open House for high school students all day – register in advance or join their walking tour at 8:30am. A 5k Color Run/Walk will start at the Norris Center at 10am, and you can catch brunch in the QD for only $5 from 11:30am to 1pm. Planetarium shows are available at 1:00 and 2:00 pm and you can hitch on to another Admissions campus tour at 1pm from the Arts Center. Also at 2pm is women’s volleyball vs. Purdue Northwest. The Lambda School of Business will be recognizing Dr. Madan Saluja for 50 years of service at 3:00pm and a statue will be dedicated in his honor at Considine Hall – meet at 3pm, all are welcome. Kids Kollege is back from 3-5 pm for ages 6-12 and we will also be offering Kiddie Kare for ages 3-5. The Women’s Walk for women’s athletics (men AND women are welcome!) at 4pm begins with a reception at Cisler featuring food and drinks, prize and cash raffles, followed by a spirited walk through campus (wear your Laker gear!) ending outside the Norris Center for the Tailgate Party. The Tailgate runs from 5-7 pm in front of the Norris Center, featuring food for purchase (FREE for current students), cash bar, games and other entertainment. The puck drops at 7:00 pm for a hockey re-match with Denver.
Reunions this year include Recreation, Political Science and Lukenda School of Business. Each has their own agenda of events – check with the Alumni office for details. If you want to get your group (any group) together, contact the Alumni office and find out how we can help!
