Laker Men's Cross Country Slated 9th in GLIAC Preseason Poll
The Lake Superior State (LSSU) men's cross country program has been projected to finish ninth (18 pts) in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
The Lakers return a core group of six seniors in Ethan Nachazel (East Jordan, Mich.), Aaron Nachazel (East Jordan, Mich.), Roy Bowman (Jerome, Mich.), Reese Camp (Highland, Mich.), Skylar Williams (Battle Creek, Mich.), and Riley Sponseller (Mt. Pleasant, Mich.) with the Nachazel brothers having been the top two runners for the program a year ago.
LSSU also boasts a talented group of underclassmen, highlighted by sophomore Sam Markle (Berrien Springs, Mich.) who saw significant time on the course last season. In addition, the Lakers have added seven first-year athletes into the program for this upcoming season.
The Lakers open their season on Friday, Sept. 13 when they travel to Detroit for the Warrior Challenge at Willow Metropark.
