We are pleased to share with you that this year’s Great Lake State Weekend will be held on October 15 & 16, 2021. Festivities will include the kick-off of the University’s 75th anniversary. This will be the overarching theme for the weekend. On Friday and Saturday, we will operate a Welcome Center at Lukenda Alumni House to greet alumni and friends. There will be an array of academic open houses and the career fair on Friday afternoon.
We are excited about a new format for the Alumni Awards scheduled in the Arts Center on Friday prior to the Laker Hockey game. The Lakers will be opening their CCHA season against the St. Thomas University Tommies, the newest addition to the CCHA, for a two-game home series.
On Saturday, join us for Admissions activities, a fun run and a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of LSSU’s Nursing Program. There will be a reunion and open house at the Superior Simulation Center. There will be five inductees into the Laker Athletic Hall of Fame this year occurring Saturday afternoon followed by the Women’s Walk for Women’s Athletics. The walk will culminate with the “Pre-gamer on the Courts” social on the outdoor tennis courts prior to Saturday night’s Laker Hockey game.
This is an overview of the activities with more details to follow. We will be following whatever potential restrictions that may be in place at the time, if any, to ensure the safety of all participants.
The campus community looks forward to welcoming alumni, friends and potential students back to Lake State!
