The 32nd annual Lake State Classic Golf Tournament and auction, in support of the LSSU Foundation, Laker Athletics, and other programs at LSSU, will be held Aug. 6 at the Wild Bluff Golf Course in Brimley, Mich.
The event is for everyone, regardless of golf skills. The goal for this year is to return to the event’s pre-pandemic atmosphere yet adhere to state and local health department restrictions in place at the time.
“We are excited to be back in person at Wild Bluff this summer and once again to team up with the Soo Blue Liners, Laker Athletics, and LSSU Club Sports,” said Annual Fund and Athletic Development Director Andrew Rubinstein.
Registration will begin at 8 AM, with breakfast boxes provided for golfers in their cart. The four-person scramble will commence with a shotgun start at 9 AM. There will be multiple special events, and lunch will be available for golfers at the turn.
The auction opens for bidding on July 29 and will close the evening of Aug 6. Offerings include a stay-and-play opportunity at Bay Mills Resort and Casinos, Laker and Red Wings items, a golf fan package courtesy of the Green Bay Packers, and LSSU Club Hockey items.
“I am excited to be back with the LSSU Foundation and once again be a part of this great event. We are looking forward to getting together with our LSSU supporters,” said LSSU Vice President of Advancement Scott Smith.
“The Lake State Classic Golf Tournament is a perennial favorite of our Laker faithful,” said LSSU President Dr. Rodney S. Hanley. “It’s a wonderful way to have a good time on a beautiful course and to give back to our great institution.”
