Traditionally each fall since 1995, the Laker community gathers for LSSU’s version of homecoming known as Great Lake State Weekend (GLSW). Great Lake State Weekend is for all ages of the Laker Community and LSSU parents and students are welcome. It is a campus-wide celebration welcoming the LSSU community, alumni, and friends for fun-filled family events to enjoy. Festivities will include celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 1972 NAIA Championship and the 30th Anniversary of the 1992 NCAA Championship.
“GLSW is the best weekend of the year at Lake State,” said LSSU Alumni Association Board Vice President Brittany (Litchard) Barrett ’17. “As a student I loved attending the pregame tailgate, meeting up with all of my friends and cheering loud in the stands at the hockey games. Now as an alumnus, I love heading back to campus to see how things have changed throughout the years, meeting up with classmates that I haven’t seen in quite some time, reliving some of the best years of my life, and cheering on my Lakers just like I did as a student. I’ve looked forward to GLSW every year since I started at Lake State in 2010, and now I look forward to bringing my family to it each year!”
An official date for this year’s Great Lake State Weekend will be announced soon, follow the LSSU Alumni Association on Facebook to see all alumni announcements related to GLSW.
