Raymond James Ellsworth ‘83 ,Alpena, passed away on December 12, 2021. . He was a graduate of Alpena High School and went on to college at Lake Superior State University to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Clifford Ervick ‘71, Au Train, Passed away on January 10, 2022. after a lengthy battle with esophageal cancer resulted in a draw. liff graduated from Midland High School in 1971, and went on to study Biology at Lake Superior State where he met his life long partner and wife of 48 years, Danon (née Anthony) Ervick
Thomas George Galbraith ‘90 ,Mio, passed away on March 1, 2022. He graduated with a bachelor’s in business from Lake Superior State University.
William Robert Gregory, Stoughton, WI, passed away on November 17, 2021. Bill was a friend of Lake Superior State University and generations of past LSSU presidents, faculty, staff and the hockey program.
Karen Carlene Heller ‘97, Durham, NC, passed away on April 14, 2021. KC received a degree of Associate in Arts from Alpena Community College in 1994, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Lake Superior State University in 1997.
Todd Lawrence Leveille ‘92, Port Huron, passed away on December 9, 2021. Mr. Leveille was graduated in 1986 from LaSalle High School in St. Ignace. He was then graduated from Lake Superior State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Corydon Lynn Somes ’67, Cross Plains, WI, passed away on March 21, 2022.He graduated from Soo High in 1963 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1967 from Lake Superior State College (now University). He served on the Board of Control of Lake Superior State College from 1970 until 1985. He was chairman of the board for two years. He was also honored to be named the 1987 Outstanding Alumni of the College, speaking at the spring commencement that year.
Jennifer E. “Jen” Veum ‘00, Brimley, passed away on March 8, 2022. Jen graduated from Sault High in the class of 1991, and then attended her undergraduate studies at Lake State University and finishing her graduate studies and receiving her degrees at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids.
Thomas James Wiley ‘72, Fort Smith, AR, passed away on December 26, 2021. Jim played two season in his hometown for the Soo Greyhounds before moving on to play at Lake Superior State and helping the team win a National Championship. He was inducted into the Sault Ste. Marie Hall of Fame in 2017 in the Player Category as well as inducted into the Lake Superior State Hockey Hall of Fame in 1997 and again in 2001 for the 1971-1972 NAIA National Championship team.
