This summer, CFRE earned federal grant funding for an exciting new project. Madison and Torin, two CFRE student research technicians pictured above, set up the outdoor mesocosms for the project. CFRE intends to use these new habitats to simulate local wetland conditions across seasons, which will improve their ability to conduct novel ecosystem-level environmental contaminants research.

Lake Superior State University Engineering & Technology faculty, staff and students attended Automate 2024 this past May in Detroit. They had a great time and were able to see some of the cutting-edge work done by LSSU alumni at the conference!

LSSU introduces new introductory American Sign Language (ASL) course

This past July, Lake Superior State University announced a new, non-credit introductory class to ASL. The class was created by the joint forces of LSSU's accessibility services coordinator, Hannah Burton-Parrish, and Sheri Bertram-LeBarre, and EIPA and RID ED K-12 certified ASL. The pair were connected through the Sault Rants and Raves Facebook page and created the class with the intention of enhances inclusivity and communication in the Sault community.
