906 Day is a special day set aside to celebrate the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, each year on the sixth day of September. This year the LSSU Foundation offered up a Limited Edition 906 Day Laker-themed protective mask that alumni & friends could receive if they donated at least $30 in support of the Bud Mansfield Student Emergency Fund. In total, there were 84 donations made, 31 first time donors to the university, and a total of $5,053.98 raised.

The 31st annual Lake State Golf Classic in support of the Lake Superior State University Foundation Development Fund and Laker Athletics was held in a new format this year. The Play at Your Pace format took place between July 17th and August 28th. Teams were split into two divisions, those that played at Wild Bluff Golf Course, and those that played at other courses around the state. The change was made to comply with state orders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Including this year's net proceeds, over $635,000 has been in raised in support of the University and its students.

In addition to the new playing format this year, sponsors still had the chance to participate virtually. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan was the title sponsor of the event with proceeds from their sponsorship earmarked to support the Bud Mansfield Student Emergency Fund. Spence Brothers and War Memorial Hospital were presenting sponsors, while mBank joined the event as a major sponsor. All four are long-time supporters of the event. Read more.
