Calling all 1946-1970 graduates, or anyone who took classes during that time – you are invited to march in Lake Superior State University’s 2020 Commencement Ceremonies on May 2, as a member of LSSU’s Golden Grad Society! If you were on the campus of Lake Superior State College – or maybe it was the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining and Technology when you attended – at least 50 years ago, then you qualify. If you didn’t receive a diploma, then we define your “graduation year” as the last year you were enrolled as a student.
The class of 1970 and any Golden Grads attending the reunion for the first time will be presented with a commemorative medallion that features the official LSSU seal and the words “Sault Branch” in recognition of this significant personal anniversary.
Golden Grads are invited to attend a reception at the home of LSSU President Dr. Rod Hanley Friday evening – sponsored by the Ojibway Hotel, and they lead the Commencement processional into Taffy Abel Ice Arena Saturday morning. See photos from 2019.
If you will be participating in the Commencement exercise, academic regalia is required. If you already own a cap and gown and wish to wear it, we welcome you to do so. If you need a cap and gown, please let us know your height and weight, and we will order everything for you – compliments of the alumni Association. Your regalia will be in the Bud Cooper Gym for robing at 10:15 am

Memory Book
Each year we compile a Memory Book filled with anecdotes, narratives and memories of our Golden Grads. All Golden Grads attending the reunion will receive a printed copy.
