2026 Superior Ice Showdown
January 23, 2026 — Join us in a celebration of the strong hockey connection between the Twin Saults at the GFL Memorial Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, this January! The LSSU Lakers will take on the University of St. Thomas Tommies in a CCHA regular season game. There will be a pre-game social inside the gardens – in the Bumbacco Room – at 5:30pm, and the puck will drop at 7:07pm. Go Lakers!
Lake State Day at the Red Wings
January 31, 2026 — Join us at Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit as the Detroit Red Wings face off against the Colorado Avalanche! The game starts at 1:00pm, and there will be a pre-game social inside the arena at the UWM District Market from 11:30am to 1pm. Feel free to stop in, get a bite to eat, chat with your fellow Lakers, and get ready for the game! When you purchase a ticket it will include a limited-edition LSSU x Red Wings Centennial sweatshirt, entry to the pre-game social, and a portion of proceeds that goes back to support future events with the LSSU Alumni Association.
2026 Basketball Alumni Reunion
February 19-21, 2026 — Join us for the Laker Basketball Alumni Reunion Weekend, as we celebrate decades of Laker basketball excellence. This year, we honor the 50th anniversary of the ’75–’76 men’s GLIAC regular-season championship and the 30th anniversary of the ’95–’96 men’s GLIAC Tournament Championship, bringing together alumni to reconnect, reminisce, and be recognized during halftime festivities.
