Mary was a trailblazer who worked many positions on Alaskan Marine Highway System ships and made friends from around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

She served in the army as part of classified communications until her discharge, then attended LSSU , Bay De Noc College, and NMU under the GI Bill. Donna was an avid Tigers fan who loved music and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.<\/span><\/p>\n

He served in the U.S. Navy for 26 years, including during the Vietnam and Korean Wars, then attended LSSU before becoming an educator in Michigan for 15 years. He joined the Navy immediately after graduating high school, then attended LSSU in its early years as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology before transferring to the Colorado School of Mines to complete his Geophysical Engineering degree. Donald worked for Phillips 66 for his entire career, first following the oil around the country before settling down with an office job until his retirement in 1985.<\/span><\/p>\n

Glenn was also a member of the Mason Optimist Club and Mason United Methodist Church, past president of the Mason Area United Way, and former member of the Mason State Bank Board of Directors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bill is remembered as a dedicated father, husband, and provider for his family.<\/span><\/p>\n

He went on to earn a license as a Michigan Registered Professional Engineer before having an interesting career working with Collins Radio Co. on the communication system for the Apollo Space Project. After that, James had a 30-year career working for Dow Chemical Co.<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul worked for General Motors, Gerber, the Michigan Legislator, Compuware, and AAA. He is remembered for his love for cruises, and above all else, his family.<\/span><\/p>\n

Robert Matchett ’71<\/a>\"\"<\/a>, Marquette, passed away November 15, 2023.\u00a0 He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from LSSU and a Master’s from Northern Illinois University in Community Mental Health. Robert worked as a substance abuse coordinator at the LMAS District Health Center for 15 years until his retirement. He also worked as a chaplain for the Marquette Branch Prison.<\/span><\/p>\n

Guy Molby<\/a>\"\"<\/a>, Alden, passed away July 1, 2024. Guy was Director of Security and a Criminal Justice professor at LSSU, as well as a Professional Investigator and Zoning Administrator for Helena Township. He also served as a Scoutmaster in Alden for over 60 years and was a volunteer firefighter with South Torch lake Fire & Rescue.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Barbara Mornson<\/a>, Westbrook, ME, passed away September 9th, 2024. She attended LSSU in its early years, then moved to Maine where she worked for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years. She is remembered by her sons, grandchildren, and numerous other family members.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Michael Mosher<\/a>, Gladstone, passed away September 12, 2024. He earned a Bachelor’s in accounting from LSSU and was drafted to the US Army in 1967. After an honorable discharge in 1969, Michael worked for Chicago and North Western Railroad, then Mead Paper until his retirement.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"William ‘Bill’ O’Connor ’69<\/a>, Kalamazoo, passed away May 26, 2024. After completing his schooling, Bill was drafted in the US Air Force, where he earned numerous awards and medals for his participation in search and rescue teams. He worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections after his discharge, then went on to own part of O’Connor’s CPD until his retirement to Florida in 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jamie graduated from LSSU with honors when she earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and was selected as the outstanding Early Childhood Education Graduate. She then went on to work as an adjunct at NCMC until June of 2024. Jamie is remembered for her great love of teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

He attended LSSU in it’s early years as a branch of Michigan Tech before beginning a career in construction, during which he started the companies Osborn Construction and JOB Construction. Joseph is remembered for his love of the outdoors and dedication to his faith.<\/span><\/p>\n

Daniel earned his Paramedic license from\u00a0 NCMC in 2000 and worked for Life Link Ambulance, Kalkaska EMS, North Flight EMS, and MMR while attending Liberty University online to earn his B.A. in Business Administration and Sales.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"James E. Quinnell ’53<\/a>, Pickford, passed away October 19, 2024. He began his higher education at LSSU when it was known as the Sault Branch of the Michigan College of Mining and Technology, and followed his passion for sports as a track and basketball athlete. Gene worked as a teacher, counselor, and librarian in the Les Cheneaux and Brimley school districts, though most of her time was dedicated to the church and faith-based organizations such as the Salvation Army and Youth with a Mission.<\/span><\/p>\n
