Angeline Boulley published her first novel in March 2021 to critical acclaim, immediately securing the No. 1 spot on The New York Times Best Seller List. Since then, Firekeeper\u2019s Daughter has become \u201cone of this year\u2019s most buzzed about young adult novels\u201d (Good Morning America) and has been awarded, among other accolades, a TIME Magazine Best YA Book of All Time Selection and The Goodreads Best Young Adult Fiction Award for 2021.<\/p>\n
Boulley\u2019s second novel, Warrior Girl Unearthed was released in May of 2023 and achieved instant New York Best Seller status.\u00a0 The book has won the Amazon Book of the Month award and is nominated for numerous fiction awards. Warrior Girl Unearthed\u00a0weaves together themes of identity, repatriation of Native American human remains and cultural objects, jurisdiction, and missing and murdered Indigenous women, set against the backdrop of the city of Sault Ste. Marie and Sugar Island.<\/p>\n
An enrolled member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, Boulley is a storyteller who writes about her Ojibwe community in Michigan\u2019s Upper Peninsula. She is a former director of the Office of Indian Education at the U.S. Department of Education. Boulley is originally from Sugar Island, Mich.<\/p>\n
