Viridis Laboratories<\/a>\u00a0is proud to support Lake Superior State University\u2019s cannabis chemistry program and recently donated $50,000 to fund research as well as a new periodic table of elements on campus in Michigan\u2019s Upper Peninsula.<\/p>\n

The cannabis chemistry degree program was the first in the nation when it launched in 2019. Viridis Chief Science Officer Dr. Michele Glinn serves on the advisory board to assist with curriculum design and offer her expertise on the subject.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Viridis, we\u2019re dedicated to scientific excellence within our company and in the industry as a whole, so I\u2019m proud to serve on LSSU\u2019s cannabis chemistry advisory board,\u201d Glinn said. \u201cAs the cannabis industry grows and matures in Michigan, it\u2019s important to have a pipeline of qualified talent prepared to work in cannabis testing laboratories so we can help ensure patients and adult-use consumers have consistent access to safe, effective product.\u201d<\/p>\n

The university recently celebrated 75 years of chemistry programs and unveiled a new periodic table of elements at the Crawford Hall of Science. The periodic table is comprised of plaques with individual sponsors. Viridis sponsored the overall table, with the donation used to fund undergraduate chemistry research.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe value our partnership with Viridis as they bring invaluable knowledge and expertise to our program, give philanthropic support that helps fund research, and offer internships and employment to our students and graduates,\u201d said Dr. Steven Johnson, dean of the College of Science and the Environment at LSSU. \u201cPartnerships like this are integral to achieving our goal of providing an innovative, transformative education to prepare our students for success after graduation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
