David and Gregg Bush present a check of $5,000 to War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Remembrance Committee members: Patricia Claxton, Chair; Kay Allott; and Cindy Hopper, for their nursing scholarship at LSSU. This gift is given to honor the memory of their parents, Marielle and Wesley Bush and to recognize the hard work of Gregg\u2019s wife, Linda in taking care of the many details of their parents\u2019 final wishes.<\/p>\n

In 1998, Marielle Bush chaired the War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Remembrance Committee.\u00a0Through her efforts and with the support of the War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a scholarship was established at the LSSU Foundation to benefit a student of junior or sophomore status who demonstrates community leadership and a dedication to working in a health-related field. In the War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Nursing Scholarship\u2019s twenty year history, it has grown from awarding one $500 award to an endowed scholarship that benefits up to three nursing students at LSSU each year with $1,000 awards.<\/p>\n
